Happy Birthday Tyler!

I’m am in shock that my son is turning 7 today! It doesn’t seem possible that 7 years has past since his stubborn little butt came into the world. Tyler has challenged me in so many ways by making me have more patience, showing me I don’t always need to right and really just teaching me to be a better mom. I was shown all my faults when he was born and as much as he drives me nuts sometimes he was surely put in my life to for a special reason. He is turning into such a cool, smart young kid who loves to cuddle with us in the morning and has some seriously amazing dance moves during dance off’s!!! Tyler, we love you and you are the best boy ever!!!

“Surprise! We’re going to Napa!”

This is what I was told by my husband on a early thursday morning. As one of my Christmas presents he thought it would be a great idea to surprise me with a trip to Napa. He arranged for his parents to watch the kids (first time EV.ER..yes I said EVER..on a vacation in all almost 7 years), plane, hotel, car and a nice little new watch to go along with me on the trip…because you can’t have a surprise trip without a surprise watch..right?!? I must say, I wasn’t hitting me that we were actually going to be leaving our kids behind until I dropped them off at school and got a little teary eyed. TWO WHOLE (and a half) DAYS…what will we do with ourselves?? That sadness quickly went as I sat on the plane and was able read a magazine or even have a thought to myself. We Stayed at the Bardessano hotel which was amazing, went out to dinner whenever we wanted, rode a bike around the cute little town, woke up whenever we wanted to and went to taste some wine. I was a so nice to be able to spend time with just my husband and he sure knows how to plan a great surprise!!

We finally found someone to take a picture of us! As he took it he said “this will be the best picture of your whole trip!”. Ummmm it is a great picture of the rocks!

So we resort to ol’ faithful…the self timer.

Baby J

I love when friends have babies. Those itty bitty lil’ things are one of my favorites to take pictures of. Thanks, Ceci! He was such a good boy!

My family

A wonderfully, talented friend of mine, Amy from Three kisses studio, is just starting out in photography and offered to take family pictures this year. I jumped on it, and am extremely happy with the results and had to share. She also created my oh so beautiful logo, and does amazing stationary that is sold through minted.com. Check out here website here and “like” her on Facebook.

Thank you, Amy!!!:)

4 years and counting!

Can I please ask where the time went?? I’m obviously horrible at blogging! Last year I decided to take a break from photography…(all of 4 months I did it) I realized I didn’t have the time it required. So here I am, 1 year later feeling a lot less pressure. Just because I love taking pictures does not mean I need to make a business out of it until I feel fully ready. In the mean time, I will hone my skillz and still like share things that happen in my life. So here it is…

My last post was exactly 1 year ago and we were celebrating our sweet, loving Elizabeth’s birthday and today we are doing it again. I decided we needed to get her a birthday dress. Elizabeth felt that was an amazing idea and told me of her very specific demands “I want it to be pink..not light pink..dark pink, and it has to have farkles!”. So we set out for a pink sparkle dress and found it..Wahoo!! This morning when she woke up I ran upstairs, put her in her pink farkle dress, took out the curlers and took her birthday pictures.

Happy birthday, Elizabeth!!
